Daily Building Procedures

At Panther Valley Junior Senior High School, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to student success. Arriving on time, attending school consistently, and following established arrival and dismissal procedures help create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students.

Morning Arrival

The school day begins promptly at 7:35 a.m.

Students may enter the building beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, students should report directly to their designated morning location.

  • Students eating breakfast should report to the cafeteria.
  • Students in Grades 7 and 8 should report to the auditorium.
  • Students in Grades 9 and 10 should report to the gymnasium.
  • Students in Grades 11 and 12 should report to the main hallway.

Students must remain in their assigned area until the bell rings for homeroom. Students are not permitted to wander through the building before the start of the school day.

Bus Transportation

Students riding the bus should arrive at their assigned bus stop several minutes before their scheduled pickup time.

Students are expected to ride only their assigned bus unless alternative transportation has been approved through the Transportation Office.

Tardy Procedures

  • Students arriving after 7:35 a.m. must report directly to the main office before reporting to class.
  • Students arriving between 7:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. will be marked tardy for the number of instructional minutes missed.
  • Students arriving after 10:45 a.m. will be considered absent for the morning session.
  • Students who leave before 10:46 a.m. will be considered absent for the afternoon session.

Excused Tardies

Tardiness may be excused when appropriate documentation is provided. Acceptable reasons include:

  • Illness or injury
  • Medical or dental appointments
  • Funeral services for an immediate family member
  • Religious observances or instruction
  • Driver's license testing or required vision examinations

Students returning from a medical appointment should provide documentation from the healthcare provider upon arrival at school.

Please note that oversleeping, missing the bus, transportation issues, vehicle trouble, or waiting in the parent drop off line are not considered excused reasons for arriving late.

Excessive Tardiness

Students are expected to arrive on time every day.

Four unexcused tardies during a semester will result in an after school detention.

Additional unexcused tardies may result in additional disciplinary consequences and the loss of certain student privileges, including parking privileges, participation in extracurricular activities, school events, and incentives.

Early Dismissals

Students needing to leave school early must submit a parent or guardian note to the main office before the start of the school day.

The note should include:

  • Date and time of dismissal
  • Reason for the early dismissal
  • Name of the person picking up the student, if applicable
  • Parent or guardian signature

Students returning to school following an appointment must report to the office to sign back in and provide any required documentation from the healthcare provider.Pan
